What is Disk Filter Irrigation?
A disc filter is a type of water filter that is most commonly used in irrigation. They’re high-capacity filtering devices that work from the inside out. The filthy water is pumped into a central drum and then discharged through discs. They are made up of woven filter textiles that filter the in-fluent stream for solids.
It’s a filter, just like any other, with the goal of retaining suspended particles. Began as a suggestion to filter irrigation water. And gradually found uses in all water-related fields.
Disc filters may be claimed that began with basket-type filters, which use a metal mesh as the filtering medium.
How does a disc filter work?
The discs have a ring shape to them. They leave a center gap or channel when stacked. Each disc features grooves on the outside and inner perimeters that are more open on the outer and smaller on the inner. The shape, angulation, intersections, length, and amount of these grooves all contribute to the effectiveness of the filtering process. The water enters the middle channel from the outside. The solids stay in the channels: the bigger ones stay on the outside, while the tiniest ones approach the center. This reduces the frequency with which the discs must be cleaned.

The discs come in a variety of colors. Each of which correlates to a distinct opening or level of filtration. A nominal aperture of 5 to 400 microns is used to manufacture discs.
