Driplines – every drip irrigation system includes a combination of 16mm driplines with varying flow rates as per the hole spacing. Available in thickness sizes of 0.2 mm to 0.4mm.

HDPE Pipes – Mainline connection takes up a selection of HDPE or PVC pipes. There is a wide range of sizes for HDPE pipes to use starting from 20 mm to 110 mm sizes.

Tank Connector – You need a tank connector to complete installation of the mainline pipe connection. Available tank connectors ½ to 3 inch applicable as per the tank size.

Connection Fittings – HDPE mainline and dripline fittings to secure the pipe connection.

Filters – Water filtration kits for trapping debris and silt that can block the irrigation pipes. A screen filter is applicable with  a size range of ¾ to 1.5 inch.

Control valves – If you want to control the flow of water to different areas of your garden, consider using control valves. Pressure valve, check valves, air valves and ball valves are valve requirements for a drip irrigation system.

Timer – A timer can automate your irrigation system, saving you time and water. Choose a timer that is easy to program and reliable.

Preparation for Installation

Tank Connection  – The initial step in drip irrigation setup. You can work with any size more than 10,000 litre Capacity.

Farm should be ready for installation, with crops already planted on spacing to suitable for driplines. Trenches of depth 1.5 ft deep should be ready for laying mainline pipes.

Actual Drip Irrigation System installation

Tank to Mainline Connection – Using a tank connector, make a connection of the mainline pipe to the tank.

Hydrant Connection – Install the hydrant which includes the pipe, pressure regulator, filter and ball valve connection. Connect it to the mainline pipe.

Mainline to sub mainline connection – Lay mainline pipes on the ground, or in other in the trenches. Use a female tee connector to connect the hydrant to the mainline pipe connection on a branching pipe section.

Sub mainline to Lateral Connection – Connect sub mainlines to the laterals or riser pipes.

Dripline laying – Unpack, cut and lay driplines on the planting beds on a row spacing of 1 m and length of 100M.

Sealing Pipe Ends – Use end caps to seal Sub mainline pipes

Lateral to Dripline Connection – Use a start connector to connect driplines to the lateral risers.

End Plug Connection – Dripline end connection using drip end caps.

What Number of Driplines Per Bed

The number of driplines to lay on each farm section must be respective of the crop type and farm size. You can do 2 – 4 driplines on each bed size of 1.5 m wide by 100m long as per crop spacing.

Number of driplines per bed should be considered with keen assessment as it affect flow rate and plant growth.
